I sat opposite him,at Cambridge until I retired at the end of May 2007, and I could regularly hear the happy rustle of the crisp packet soon after he arrived in the morning! Such a colourful and larger than life character who kept us all amused at work. He could always answer our qeries about an assortment of things, from his collection of his Dad's books which he kept at the side of his desk!He will be missed.
